Sarah Slean is a highly acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter and composer who has earned a prominent place in the music industry. The client has over 25 years of experience as a singer-songwriter and composer, and has released over a dozen albums and EPs over that time. While she had sold sheet music for individual songs, she wanted to create a full songbook anthology of various songs throughout her career.
When she approached us about the project, she had already had the sheet music created for each song, and needed someone to put it together in a book. In addition to creating this booklet, we created pages of photos and text about each album that were placed in relevant places in the booklet.
We wanted the songbook to reflect the client’s website, so used imagery from the same photoshoot for the front and back covers, along with a selection of photography that the client had taken of her highlights over her career. We also kept the design in line with the website with the use of the same colours and fonts. Text and photography were laid out like a scrapbook to help give these spreads look organic.
The book contained over 250 pages and over 40 songs.
